When You Allow Your Passions to Lead

Instead of focusing on my absence from this blog for nearly a year, I’ll try to share areas or aspects where I was indeed present.

Creative Ajay’s Kitchen” is my happy place. It is my therapeutic space – it has that space where I can be free and be an unadulterated version of myself. And, Creative Ajay’s Kitchen has stolen my heart once more. We have rekindled our connection and I have been prepping and whipping up some scrumptious creations in Creative Ajay’s Kitchen every chance I got.

When you allow your passions to lead, they become the central point in your world — it is that thing that you think about non-stop, that thing that you think about last before falling asleep at nights, and that thing that you can’t wait to actualize after anxious preemptive planning.

Alas, I started Creative Ajay’s kitchen on YouTube back in 2016, at time where there was only long-form content on the platform. A year or two prior, I joined Instagram, the perfect platform at the time for sharing images of my work. Fast forward to 2024, things have changed a lot. Being absent from social media for the past few years meant that I had to relearn the platforms and their algorithms. Add TikTok to the mix, there is just a lot to keep up with.

These days, I spend most of my time on YouTube as this platform resonates most with my content the most and seems to be working the best for me as a “re-iventor” of sorts, so far. I mostly post YouTube Shorts, since it saves time posting the same video across platforms that have short video content options. I’ll do some upcoming posts delving more into my video formats and style, etc.

What else has been going on?

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to check off bucket-list items such as sailing in the canals in Venice, sitting on the edge of the Trevi fountain in Rome, brushing shoulders with the Colosseum, and setting foot on the motherland for the first time. Let’s just say that these adventures were of epic proportions and they are due their own posts which are forthcoming.

I also found a small-local church whose ministry/focus is reminiscent of my church while growing up. I was determined to find a church that felt like home, and after endless Google searches, I found just that.

On other not so exciting news, I got scammed here, AGAIN. I contracted a mechanic to work on my vehicle who thought it was okay to return said vehicle with new damages that occurred  while vehicle was under his care and custody. The deceptive and negligent mechanic blatantly refused to correct the damages that he did. This did not go well, clearly. A thief will never prosper is a popular Jamaican saying and I am confident that his future behaviors will be “checked” in a different way upon his encounter with the right person.

Lastly, RIP to my beloved MacBook Air which has held me down over the past few years. The machine suddenly died this past August, and I was unable to recover any of my files with the exception of what was saved on iCloud. Today, we have upgraded to the latest MacBook Pro with the M4 chip.
As you can see, I have had my fair shares of ups and downs. Sometimes I feel like my plate is full. Other times, ah, bring it on.

At this point, I won’t make any promises to post more consistently on this blog. But since I am actually still paying hosting and domain fees. It might just me in my best interest.
