You can have your dessert ..... and eat it too.

Although I'm always tempted to indulge in many mouthwatering, eye-catching delights, I'm often forced to skip dessert. My experience with food allergies along with dietary changes, have unfortunately limited my options, and subsequently, my level of indulgence.
But you can't be too hard on yourself when it's Thanksgiving, right? (a day where the central focus is unabated feasting). How can you deprive yourself of anything that looks even remotely delicious? For this past Thanksgiving, I didn't want to miss a beat. I always had the intention of making a banana split, and my desires finally came through. My other option was to make a strawberry pie, but I had a hard time finding a pie crust that wasn't loaded with undesirable additives.
Life doesn't get much easier than a banana split.
Note: This is my version of a banana split. Of course there are different ways to do this, but I worked with the ingredients that I had at the time, and trust me when I tell you that the outcome was amazingly divine.
