Celebrating 2 Years of Being BOLD, ALLURING & DIFFERENT.
By Alecia James Tuesday, September 1st, 2015
Creative Ajay turned two this past June. It has been an incredibly amazing journey so far, just sharing my passions, and all things creative while tapping into the minds of our guests to learn their inspiring stories. Of course I had to do a photoshoot as part of the celebration. We have to preserve those moments....and you know how many words a picture is worth right?
Since I recently fell in love with African prints and fabrics, I knew I had to rock a dashiki print skirt, complemented with a matching turban. It was so much fun getting dressed that day. I felt like a little girl playing "dress up" except I wasn't actually playing. I was living my reality, embracing every moment of being "BOLD, ALLURING & DIFFERENT."
So the site of this shoot was Central Park, my absolute favorite green space in the city. This time around, I trekked all the way to Belvedere Castle, the highest point in the park which offered a bird's eye-view both literally and figuratively, as it felt like a temporary escape to a eutopia-like world, free from any societal restraint.
When random people were asking to have their photos taken with me, I knew there was something special about my aura that captivated them. Maybe the Creative Ajay effect?
The skirt, a flowing navy blue number, was custom-made by a tailor in Harlem who I felt totally nailed it. I bought an extra yard of fabric to use as my head wrap. I also finally made use of the red off-shoulder, bow-flanked top, that was lying around in my closet for the longest while.
Of course I accessorized with a whole stack of bracelets and the usual bling, earrings and a cool intricately designed blue and gold necklace. Mac's heroine, my go-to, fail-safe lippie, finished the look.
I'm so in love with nature. It's free.....magical, if you ask me. The thick green canopy of trees never fails to provide a gorgeous backdrop.
Posing next to the rails of one of their many bridges.
The view from Belverdere Castle.
So these were some of the pics from the shoot until I locate the rest which seem to be evading me in some unknown space on my hard drive. I'll also admit that this post is a few months overdue, but September is here and I'm AWAKENED. Stay tune for many more posts coming your way.
Until next time, BE BOLD. BE ALLURING. BE DIFFERENT!
